Chippewa Valley Schools are located in northeastern Macomb County about 19 miles north of Detroit. Encompassing portions of Macomb and Clinton Townships, the 24-square mile district is primarily a residential, family-oriented community. Commuters have easy access via the I-94 and M-53 freeways to Detroit and northern suburbs.
A central business district is located in nearby Mt. Clemens, and several shopping centers, including Lakeside Mall, are minutes away.
Higher educational institutions are located within easy access of Chippewa Valley, including Wayne State University, Oakland University, and Macomb Community College and University Center.
A variety of cultural and recreational activities are in the area, including The Art Center in Mt. Clemens, Macomb Community College Cultural Center, Meadowbrook Theater at Oakland University, and Metropolitan Beach. Other attractions include the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, Fisher Theater, the Detroit Zoo, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Museum of African American History, and dining in Greektown.
