Hello! My name is Mrs. Dykstra and I am so happy to have your student in library with me!
Your child will be visiting the library once a week where they will listen to a story (K-2nd) and have time to look for library books! They will be able to check out 1-2 books per week depending on grade (K-1st: 1 book; 2nd-5th: 2 books). Please remind your students to return their library books on their library day! If all their books are not returned on library day, they will not be able to check out any new books that week.
In the event that a book is lost or damaged, a fine will be assigned to your student in PaySchools. They will not be able to check out another book until the fine is satisfied. Please note that these fines will stay in the PaySchools system until your student graduates. We try to get fines taken care of ASAP so our students can check out as many books as possible!
UPCOMING EVENTS:
- March is Reading Month will be here soon! Be on the lookout for information coming home explaining all the fun we will have during the month of March!
- Our next Scholastic Book Fair will run the week of conferences (March 11th-March 14th). Students will be able to shop at their designated times during the day (teachers will sign up for a time once we get closer to the fair), and we will also be open the afternoon/evenings during conferences for parents/families to shop.
