Awards Nights
8th Grade Students will be notified by letter if they are invited to Awards Night. These letters will be mailed on May 24.
Awards include: Academic (3.5 cumulative GPA for this school year), Band, 8th Grade NJHS and Science Olympiad. In addition, the Jaguar Award goes to 8th grade students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.9 for their entire middle school career.
Determining GPA: Each grade is assigned a point value (See the table below). To determine a student’s grade point average for a marking period, add the point value of the grades for all 6 classes and divide by 6. Averaging GPAs from multiple marking periods provides a cumulative GPA. GPA not rounded up for any award
